Who we are

Roland Tam is the Founder and Managing Partner of Ausasia Associates.

Roland’s corporate career spans three distinct chapters. He spent nine years in private equity and corporate development at Next Capital, a Sydney PE firm with $2bn+ under management — building the investment pipeline, executing on deals, and driving portfolio companies through to exit. He then led corporate development and strategy through two trade sales (World Nomads Group (sold to nib Travel for $105m) and Cover-More Insurance Group, an ASX-listed company (sold to Zurich Insurance Group for $750m+), followed by a global growth role at Cover Genius, now a $2bn+ global insurtech, as employee #15.

Alongside his advisory work, Roland is a 2x founder and operator in his own right. He co-founded and chairs Spacer Technologies, the largest independent marketplace for parking and storage assets across 20+ US cities, and was a Director and owner in Talent 100 (Education), which exited in 2024 via sale to Dymocks Group.

Roland is a provisional member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and is currently completing the Business Valuation Specialist program through Macquarie University. He holds a Master of Applied Finance and Investment from FINSIA, and a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney.

He is also a Senior Advisor to Genesis Advisory, a boutique ex-MBB advisory firm, and currently sits on the boards of Spacer Technologies (Chair), Parkhound and Higher Education Institute (observer).
